Anyone in the Colorado Springs area?
Hello all, I'm looking for some information on my seemingly unique '72 F-250 Sport Custom. The truck was bought used in 1976 by my grandfather, and spend the next 25 years of its life in a barn being used as a farm truck until my grandmother's death, upon which my parents inherited it. I drove it back and forth to high school on occasion but it hasn't really been driven much in the past few years. It's a 390-2V with a C6. The interesting part is that it has a vinyl roof, and different mirrors. It has a decal painted on saying "Phil Long Ford - Colorado Springs Centennial Edition." The vinyl top is beginning to peel off and I'd like to replace it, but I can't find any sources to do so and in fact saw in a thread on here that Ford never offered a vinyl top on any trucks from the factory. My mom just wants to replace it with spray-on bedliner but I'd like to preserve the unique vinyl top. Anyone from the Colorado Springs area know anything about these centennial editions, or anyone else know where the vinyl top might have come from? Thanks in advance.

It was not unheard of for dealers (local or regional) to create their own promotional vehicles. It would seem to me that the vinyl top added that lil bit of **luxury**.
Keep mom at bay with her bedliner idea. That's totally ghetto... Cheap, but ghetto.
Btw, what "centennial" was it celebrating? Colorado was admitted to the Union in 1876..
