I'm back. Yeah paid the bills and kept me out of trouble. But I am glad I work inside nowadays.

Working indoors is a blessing in my books, some people don't know just how good they have it some days in the office, guys that work outside all the time know how lucky they are these days to actually have proper climate control in a building or even have a roof over their head.

That they are. I knew from working in shops while I was in school. The school auto shop was heated and we had large fans for the warm days. My first job was at a bus company and we had a climate controlled shop. That was great. After that I worked pretty much outdoors. I like being inside now. I have worked far too many days in 5 years in bad weather to know it isnt fun.

One year of that crap in a auto shop basically being at the mercy of the weather outside was not for my butt, I now work at a machine shop that is indoors and heated and A/C'ed when it gets to hot or to cold, otherwise we just leave the doors open and right now that's fine with me.

I went from working on cars in high school to buses, then back to cars. Then off to the cemetery and switched that to part time and worked full time for home depot for a year. Then back to the cemetery full time and now in a dispatch center for a university police department.

Not to shabby, could be worse. I worked at a car shop as my first job for a year and worked a bunch of odd jobs for family and part time at a local tourist sight as a matanice man, still doing that as well currently along with my full time job as a machinist in training and a little auto work on the weekends that my old boss works still.

Not bad. I spent enough time outside to value the time inside. Only thing I am waiting for is the chance to go to day shift.

I'd love to try a night shift one time, I think I'd do great working in the dark, idk I always liked being up late at night and asleep all day. In your case I can understand wanting the day shift, being a dispatcher at night can be hard when you just wanna cave in and go back to sleep.

I have always been a morning person. Was a big change to work 4-midnight. Nights are ok but after awhile it messes with your sleep schedule. There are nights I can go to sleep easy and then there are nights where I cant fall asleep at all.

Yeah mornings are something that do not agree with me at all, picked that up from dad I think. But I could see myself doing it so long as nobody goes and makes a crap ton of noise at the house while I sleep. I can get up in the mornings and work as I am now, but I'll be darned if I don't have a cup of coffee in me before I'm halfway out the door and two energy drinks to keep me awake the whole day. Two monsters with a little something to mix them into I can last a ten hour shift no issues.

I have always been someone who can get up at 0 dark thirty and not even think about it. No coffee needed.

Unless I'm freezing my poor butt off you'll see me nodding off with no caffeine. Kinda funny to watch so I've been told actually but sucks at the same time for me.

I can go around in 100 degree weather in long sleeves just fine but the cold eats me alive it seems like. Well i gotta get up bright and early tommorow for a fun day of getting tags for my new to me ride and figuring out a few other legististics as well as cleaning out mom's old car that I am currently using because of the great mileage I get. I drive to darn far these days and the truck eats so much fuel it never see's the road it seems like poor thing is crying.
