Power Seat control
I just bought a used '95 Econoline conversion. Both seats have power adjustments, but do not work. Driver's seat will only go back and forward with switch, but other controls (height, tilt) do not work. Passenger seat does not work at all. Both seats have 3 motors underneath.
Where can I check the fuses? Where is the fusebox? Are the seat fuses in the power distribution box? Do I need to disconnect battery before opening/changing fuses?
Thanks alot!
You do not have to remove the battery cable when changing a fuse.
Another thing that may be wrong are the switches for the power seat, because you said it moves forward and back I assume the fuse would be ok, but check anyway.
Supply power to the motor and see if it works, if it does then it’s the switches, if not the motors are dead, and need replacing.
If you have any more questions, just ask.
two of your motors are most likly bad. I'd take them out and bring them to a starter/alternator rebuilder shop. They can redo them for a lot less than new ones would cost. We did this on a 97 e350 like a year ago.
