Newbie question

I have a 04 excursion v10 and I've been thinking about adding airbags to the rear to fix the rear sag. I have a bobcat I tow occasionally but primarily this is my daily driver. Will the airbags affect the driving manors of the truck?

Not if you keep the air pressure to minimum when not towing. I find it to be a harsh ride if I have over 20 lbs of air when empty so, I keep them at 15lbs. I also have the RoadMaster Active Suspension (RAS), that gives me about an inch of lift over stock but keeps the ride the same and actually helps the handling as it helps with axle warp. The airbags when needed gets me an additional 2 inches of lift above that. I don't tow much and have never used them with more than 45lbs but capable of 100lbs of air pressure.

Air bags are a great idea, and depending on your tongue weight from the trailer you may want to add a weight distribution hitch. The tongue weight on my 30 ft. weekend warrior is about 850 lbs (huge). With air bags and the hitch it rides like there is no trailer attached. I agree with living large to keep the pressure low when not towing, its very comfortable.

I did the Modified B Code rear springs along with Air Lift bags on the rear. I keep my bags at 15psi when not towing and I would say no noticeable difference at that pressure. When I do tow I start as a default at 65psi and adjust based on the particular weight of the trailer I'm pulling.

Great add-on for towing IMO for when you have a trailer where a weight distribution system won't work or isn't practical (I pull surge brake trailers that weight distribution hitches often don't like).
