my 92 250 is giving me trouble, its running rough spitting and sputtering idles real poor, I thought I fixed it by replacing the egr valve, when I put the new one on it ran fine for about 2 days then started acting up again. I just replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor, and air filter. did I get a faulty egr or is it something else if you have any insight please let me know. Thanks
.is your MIL on in the dash have your pulled the codes off it. when cruising and accelerating does it respond well is this only an idle issue have your tried disconnecting the egr valve
haven't had time to pull the codes, will do it Wednesday, and it is not just an idling issue it runs ok when driving but will sometimes sputter and want to die and it seems to do this more if I have a heavy foot on the gas but if I slowly accelerate it doesn't seem to do it. I haven't tried disconnecting the egr but I will. thanks.

That sounds like low fuel pressure. Rent, borrow, or buy a fuel pressure test gauge and check it out.
Is this a dual tank truck, and if so does it run the same way on both tanks?
Do you ever notice the fuel level going UP in either tank without actually filling it up?
it does have the dual tanks but the back tank has a hole in it so I don't know . I have noticed my gas gauge floats more than normal, it'll go from 1/8 tank to almost a half and back and forth. I was going to take it to a shop this morning to get the codes read but now it wont even start so you might be on to something.
Won't start now huh? Well get a rubber mallet (or 2x4 or whatever) and smack the bottom of the fuel tank a few times near the fuel pump (towards the front if I remember right) then try and start it. If it fires up then you can be absolutely sure you're dealing with a failed fuel pump.
Reason being is that if the pump quit, sometimes you can bring it back to life once or twice by smacking it. Usually a dead spot on the commutator (inside the motor which is inside the pump).
well we pressure tested the fuel and it was low so we went ahead and replaced the pump, the new pump pressure tested fine and she still wont start. I'm thinking the pcm might be bad, I'm currently working on getting it out and checking for any burnt or broken capacitors. if you have any other suggestion lease let me know . i love this old truck and don't want to give up on her yet, but I'm getting frustrated with it and can't afford to take it to a shop. thanks in advance.
what was your pressure exactly what is your pressure now was your gauge hooked up correctly. look for swollen capacitors to sometimes they look good but are not look at the rest of the circuitry while your their all the solder joints on the silicone board.
