I have a trac-lok in a ranger and I'll say that it simply isn't aggressive enough for my needs. I've found that it isn't as bad as the eaton that comes with GM trucks (keep in mind that the eaton available for fords is a completely different model), but in my opinion in stock form it just doesn't cut it when compared to the off-road capability of other aftermarket units.

basically they suck no matter which way you build them. and if they grab for awhile it wont last long. and in the trucks their lifespan is even shorter. your better off going for a eaton. stay away from the auburns. they dont last long in the heavier truck applications. and their not rebuildable. i myself have a detroit locker. its a reliable bulletproof unit. but pricy at $530.
