Seat A/C problem

The seat blowers in my 2010 Expy Limited work great for the most part but occasionally after about 30 minutes the seat backs start heating up like the warmers have switched on. Also I don't feel much cold air on my back while the coolers are working, how far up the seat should feel cold?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yep, thats what they do. I've had a '07 and a '13 and both do exactly what you described.

Well, that stinks. Why in the world would Ford engineer them to do that? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Here's the problem as I see it: The system uses air blowing across a chilled plate. However, like any A/C system, it also generates heat and this system makes no provisions for exsausting heat generated by the cooling system. Therefore, after about a half hour of operation the heat starts to soak into the seat. I have complained about it and the only thing Ford does to shut you up is to speed up the blowers a bit - which does absolutly no good. In reality, you may be better off by disconnecting the chilled plate and just let the blower blow ambient air from the cab. I would never order this option.

I notice they work a little better if you have the A/C on vents and floor. The seat blower picks up the cool air from the floor and blows it thru the perforations in the leather.
Also check to make sure the blower on the seatback is aligned correctly. Unzip the seat back to check. If you have kids that like to kick the back of the seats some times they get misaligned ( ask me how I know )

I hadn't thought about it like that before but it makes sense. Heat rises so the seat back is the most logical place for it to go.

I'll check into that. I have a 3 year old that takes great pleasure in kicking the seats. Sometimes I think he does it just to see how fast he can get me irritated.
