Hey guys! its been a while since i have even done anything with my 79' f150 and decided since im getting a free efi 460 and 9" rear diff that i would get back at er. The 460 came out of a 96 or a 97 f700 so its got an air compressor, the huge power steering canister, cast valve covers and TONS of emission stuff so i will be stripping down the HD stuff(other than maybe the cast valve covers so i can powder coat them) to switch to light duty and POSSIBLY turning it back to carb.
I work at a performance shop so it will definitely be getting some power adders thrown at her!
A little list that I plan on doing in the next week or two:
-throw a cam and whatever i decide to do with the fuel injection on the 460
-Rebuild the C6 trans in my pickup already or find an AOD
-take the cab and front clip off and clean/coat the frame
-all new wiring (been chewed up by cute little furry creatures)
-all new brake and fuel lines
If i bust my *** after work everyday on this i should meet my 2 week goal unless i stick to finding an AOD.
Oh! let me know what you guys would do with the 460, leave it fuel injected or turn it back to carb. I like the huge assortment of aftermarket parts if i switch to carb but let me know! thanks guys and once i get my ford here i will snap some pics
