Hello I have been mauling over getting a new truck I was close to pulling the trigger on a 2011 lariat limited with almost 55000 miles but my local dealer is running very good deals and before anything down or a trade in the 2014 stx 4x4 super cab truck is selling for 28000 I know it's not fully rigged like the lariat but man for that price brand new how can I go wrong was just wondering everybody's take on the new coyote 302 I currently own an 06 with a 5.4 and would never buy a truck with motor ever again nothing but headaches after 70000 miles
I have had my 5.0 for over two years and I don't have any complaints. It has plenty of power and I'm happy with the gas mileage. I like the way it sounds too. I don't think you will be disappointed if you choose this engine.

Thanks for the reply I have no previous knowledge of this motor and I do know I don't like the 5.4L 3 valve it's a finicky motor I'm hoping the 5.0L is not as needy
would guess the deals on `14s will only get better once the new body style `15s come out....I like my 5.0 but I`m not the best measuring stick I only commute to work with it no towing,no hauling etc... if it was me I`d get a new `15 and I probably will
It does look nice but if the past has proven anything it's that the first 1-2 years of new ideas need some adjustments and i am a little leary of the new concepts but they have the potential to be amazing
For 28K I'd forget about the Lariat and jump all over the 2014. There's nothing bad about this deal unless you were dead set on all the goodies that comes with a Lariat.
While you're poking the beehive, work the dealer a little harder and make sure that you haven't left anything on the table. Get a bed liner, a warranty, anything for free or reduced only sweetens the pot.
I hear that I am headed to dealership at 9:00 this morning and the 28000 doesn't include 1500 loyalty rebate 750 trade assistance 500 dollar college student rebate and my 06 4x4 supercab I will be trading in plus I get z plan so I could be financing a 2014 for less than 20000 out the door exciting day
new to the 5.0 but I am liking it a lot coming from the v-10 and 4 spped tranny. Gas milage is 50 percent higher and power is just as good unloaded, even better. Havent towed and don't expect the 5.0 to be equal there.
That's a nice looking truck I can't afford a brand new fx4 those are out of my range but I'm going to get a black 2014 stx with 3.55's and a 5.0L the dealer is locating the truck and I should have it by next Wednesday they added chrome step tubes and a bed liner.
Congrats! Last year i almost did the same thing, i test drove a few STX's. luckily i was able to pick up my Lariat Limited 4x4 w/22k for the same price of a new STX from my boss. I would have regretted the STX had i done it.
I love the looks of the STX truck though, they are very sharp!
Ya the lariat I wanted would be 14000 more than stx and I just bought my women an engagement/ wedding ring and band so I am happy to get both of those for less than the lariat although that lariat is awesome. I'm a carpenter so I'm not a rich person and as long as my girls happy I will be happy with a new truck even tho it's no lariat limited.
great truck, I got one about a year ago, very happy with the 5.0.. price seems about what I got mine for as well, so I think you are doing well, don't let them beat you up on the trade it, get what it is worth..
I've just got a 2014 XLT screw 5.0L here in Qatar, I tried a couple of others GMC, Chev and the Tundra. For the money the F150 was by far the best option and the motor feels great although as said before I won't be doing any towing. Does anyone know the cost for the XLT in the US I paid $37K which is a far better deal than the other 3 I tried.
