Programers

So i'm about to pull the trigger on getting a DPF delete and a tuner and have been torn between the Gear Z and the Spartan. Today I was looking around at various websites and found a "Torque Technologies T1 Race Tuner". Anyone used one of these?

I have the Gearbox Z DPFR 4.0+ programmer and am happy with it. I installed the 70 hp program and picked up 3.5 mpg highway and 1-2 mpg towing with no more regenerations. The T1 tuner was talked about on another forum (powerstroke.org I think) and the responses were somewhat mixed. It's not as widely available as the Spartan, H&S, and SCT are. But then, the Gearbox Z programmers aren't either.

Good hunting. Post back what you discover about the T-1 tuners.

Ratchet straps to pull the two apart after spraying a dab of penetrating oil. A nice flat bar gets the hangars right off. A squirt of silicone or white lithium will let it slip right off.

What's really tough is getting the Downpipe out and the rear muffler tailpiece out. Those two are quite challenging. Tailpipe more because of no car lift.

I unbolted hanger brackets from frame rail when I removed stock DPF & DOC. They were much easier to remove with the parts laying on the ground. I also replaced all 3 sensors to ease the installation. I left the original sensors in the pipes. That way if I have to return to stock again for some reason it'll go quicker.

I just put the T1 on my dads truck. Easy to use, but no where near the power of the H&S.
It does have shift on the fly.

It doesn't program the tranny. Temps on 4 setting hit 1500 maxed out. On its highest setting it's the equivalent to tow on the h&s.

My dad doesn't care. He just wanted the PDF and egr gone.nboth went bad on him. I have the H&S. I was really disappointed in the t1.

EGT hit 1500?

That's rough. I wasn't liking my EGT's so I went 4" turbo back and changed out the cold side CAC pipe. It's tough for me to hit 1000-1100 now.
