hey there. i thought i would share my progress of some gauge installations on the 'ole GREAT (snow) white. i've mentioned before i don't live in the greatest of areas and my parking spot isn't' that much better as i've been stolen from twice now.. its tough to find a block of time to get a full project done so i've been picking away at this for the past few weeks now. i keep singing that johnny cash song, something to the effect of "…i built it one piece at a time…"
thats how i feel here. just able to do one small thing at a time.
i'll let you know if i screw anything up along the way. but for now, so far, so good. cheers!
my parking/garage spot
another view of my sometimes sketchy parking lot
holes drilled, getting ready to tap
then the sun reflects off that wall of windows. shines right in my field of view
probe is hard-mounted
wire thru firewall as per riffraff instructions awesome tip. just awesome!
Wholy Crap Bd why did you have to pull all the Items for the dash ? Ive been thinking about edge probe for a while now , Just haven't found time to roll around on my back yet. My son in law put his in his dramamax ( sorry bad word) and he loves it
i pulled the dash to make it easier to cut-out the locations for the two auber gauges. i was like you. 'been thinking about it for awhile now…' i just finally had enough and tore into it. pulled the dash, installed a run of wire on the two gauges, ops checked 'em with my 12V battery charger, installing pickup units right now…
here's some pics of the dash process. dremel tool works the best. one thing to keep in mind…? go slowly. a little here a little there, refit the gauge, repeat.
