Big Dumb Loads

I see random cars or trucks that are loaded wrong or completely lacking common sense so I thought I would start a thread and share some pictures. Feel free to add what you see or have done but dont claim. Enough of me talking onto the pictures.

This happened friday at work we were basically closing early as we had a great week and we finished all the cars that was there.

Well a guy wanted to bring his Ford truck over to have a 4wd transmission installed as his went out. he got a junkyard transmission and a buddy started to do it for him but then disappeared. Well he didnt want to pay $65 for us to send a wrecker to tow it over so he used a tow dolly to bring it to us to save some cash.

Well I was standing on the driveway off to the side and as he turned and his Ford Explorer hit the ramp the strap over the passengerside front wheel of thsi '02 F250 truck flipped over the front of the tire and the truck proceed to roll forward off the dolly into the back of the explorer. Now the truck was blocking two lanes and the right wheel of the dolly was under the cab side cut by the sheet metal.

Only option was to pull it forward and the tire will just come off the rim and keep going. he lucked out as the tire just locked up and slid as he pulled it up into the drive way.

We then had to jack up the truck to get weight off the dolly so we could get the wheels off the dolly, then we removed the hitch from the Explorer, then we dragged the dolly out from under the truck while it was jacked up.

Lesson learned hopefully, try to save $65 and potentially kill someone, cause he is lucky the truck went over the front of the dolly infront of our shop. It could just as easily have fell off the back while being towed on the road or it could have went forward like it did while stopping at a red light.

Im sure the boss man will tack on a little extra for that extra work on a friday.

We already told him that the transmission wont have a warranty. If we install his junkyard transmission and the truck doesnt move, hey thats $600 labor for the installation and call a wrecker to haul it off cause its your transmission.

The Lexus has way too much weight behind it. The trailer holds a bands equipment in it and a few larger people. When I asked the guy what the rating his he said "not sure but works great in sport mode" :O. To tell me that's not dumb is ridiculous. I don't want to be anywhere near that thing when they have to stop.

I saw a couple of guys driving down the road with a fridge on the roof of their car. They didn't have it tied down but each one had his arm out the window holding on to it.

This is the kind of thing we need pictures of. Would be a sight to see but I would probably have to steer clear hoping they don't kill a bus load of nuns.

I wish I could have gotten a picture of this, But the other day I saw an F-150 with 4 stacks of pallets, stacked as high as a semi trailer.
We he turned left from a stop, the back right side of his truck squatted down. I thought for sure the load was going to tip over.
