Day after tomorrow I am meeting the Snap-On guy on his route with my E350 and we are going to find out exactly what size and drive the Torx screw socket/drive should be for the seat mounts. There have been lots of posts on this site with different numbers, so for the low-down on 2012 e350s ........"I'll be bach" on Wednesday. Meantime, I have a question re the tire low pressure warning lite up on my speedo. It was on when I bought the van last November, I checked the tires they were ok. The van went thru the Michelin tire recall, all 5 were replaced and balanced and all that happy stuff and the lite never went out.............is this unique or a more or less common thing..
Once upon a time I went to advance auto with the same dilemma, they gave me two or three to take outside and try. A T55 fit my need (2006 E350 XLT, 15 Pax). Side note: I'm sure glad I had a long (16") ratchet, as they were on pretty tight.
As for the tire light I'd speculate you have a bad TPMS sensor on that wheel. Wouldn't that also be a warranty problem?
thanks guys, the Snap-On rep had a T55 in hand and thought that was it, he's going to get a 50 just for because he does not have one on the truck.....Army: the dealership still owe me a trailer hitch, I'll bring it up then....unless you folks who are smarter than them can come up with something.....
Make sure whatever Torx bit socket you do buy fits properly. The seat bolts are a T-55 PLUS socket/bit which is a bit different than the typical T-55. Since its Snap On also make sure its a hardened bit---those work so much better and save the Torx recesses too.
JW: Yes....my meager research indicates both of what you said, case hardened and a PLUS fit, with sharper edges......got that in my notes for the Snap-On guy.
btw.......I really like your hair....
We told ya it was a T55 and JWA clarified T55 Plus earlier. You can trust us, honest...
As for low tire pressure light being on, wheel sensors can and do go bad and stop transmitting. Or it's possible the receiver needs to be recalibrated to match the current wheel sensors. If for some reason your wheels or one of your sensors was changed out, the receiver needs to "meet" the current set of sensors. (This is kind of a drag if you use a separate set of snow tires/wheels in the winter--the car needs to be reprogrammed when you change over the wheels.)
On my Subaru, one of the wheel sensors went out during the warranty period; replaced under warranty and all is well. If your van is a 2012 under warranty, a bad wheel sensor should be replaceable under warranty as well.
I also had the tire pressure light go on again about 10k miles ago. Was grumbling because all the tires looked OK, but when I checked them, one was at 25 lbs with a little nail in it. Factory pressures are 30, so these things do work. It takes about a mile of driving with good pressures for the light to go out.
I agree that JWA is looking pretty hot dressed like he is in his photo...
YOGeorge.....I have printed your response re the tire pressure sensor and will take that with me to dealer when I get the hitch put on.......thanks to you, I'll actually sound like I know what I'm talking about.........

Make sure to bring JWA's photo so that part of my post is in context...
Good luck with the tire pressure sensor. I kind of thought they were dumb but as I said, did have one tell me that I had a low tire before it put me in an inconvenient spot.
Yo sez "Make sure to bring JWA's photo so that part of my post is in context... " Well yogeorge, as you may know, some things that happen on FTE stay on FTE.....I copied around that part.

That would distract from your main issue of TPS sensors wouldn't it? Not only is JWA smart about Torx Plus, he's a helluva cross dresser I spend most of my time in rep jail with JWA because he's so helpful and, um, inspiring...
