diesel options?

diesel options?
Have an 88 250 xlt, 460 right now want that motor for a project what kind of diesel could I get and 5 speed for around 2000? Any cheaper diesel 7.3, 6.7, preferred newer and low miles but on limited budget so what you guys think

6.9, 7.3 IDI, and 7.3 IDI turbo would be the simplest swaps. A 7.3 Powerstroke would require the wiring harness and pcm, ideally a donor truck as well. Mechanically injected Cummins swaps are also do-able, while the computer controlled 24v would take more work. As for the 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7, good luck. Lots of sensors, wiring, and computer work there.
