SAD NEWS!

I remember the 1st time Steve showed up in the club...it was a round of the usual debauchery. Suddenly this new guy SteveBricks starts chirping. I think who the heck is this guy to show up and just jump in without any introduction etc. it took me all of 15 minutes to decide he was A-OK! By the end of the week we were waiting to see what senseless drivel he was contributing. I then had an oppportunity to break bread with Steve and Gail as they were passing nearby. It was a completely lackluster meal, but fantastic company. I cannot tell you how many times Steve made me evacuate my beverage through my nose either here or on FB. He had a genuine knack for it. Godspeed my friend, we will meet again...just not yet.
To the rest of my long lost friends here on FTE, hello and may God bless all of you, and comfort you as we mourn the loss of our friend.

I woke up this morning to a random post on Steve's page saying 'going to miss you ect..' I thought surely there had been a mistake or perhaps he had changed jobs. I texted Peter (DuckFan) to see if he had herd anything. He called me a few min. later and told me the devastating news... I first met Steve at the Redding Drags in 2009 (I think) and knew he was a stand up guy from the moment I met him. For those of you that have FB and are friends with him I know you will miss his comical posts as much as I will. As we all will miss his posts here on FTE.
God Bless your mourning family. I believe in Heaven and I believe good people go there and I will be happy to shake your hand once again when we meet there. Mark, Robin and You must be having one heck of a conversation about FORD TRUCKS up there. Rest In Peace.

The highlight for me though was hanging with Steve at the Carlisle ATNs a couple years ago. We shared a room and watched the Olympics till way too late at night. Steve had an incredible sense of humor. He was always ready with a positive word even if your project wasn't his thing.
Since we're sharing pictures, I have 2. The first is of Steve and I lined up at the Desert Diesel Nationals a couple years ago. The second was taken seconds later and shows how much better at racing Steve was vs me. The competition in heaven just got a whole lot stiffer. Godspeed sir

I never got to meet him in real life, but we came close once before his itinerary changed. I was hoping to hook up when I bring my family down to Disneyland next month.
But I'm proud to call him a friend, and I'll miss reading his posts.
Godspeed Bricks.

I just read through all the posts and it's safe to say, that Steve definantly was a prominent member here on and off the boards.
I never got the pleasure to meet him; But I didn't have to, to figure out he was a down to earth, true blue type guy.
When I became the KY Chapter Leader, he guided me into the position seamlessly, and always had a witty answer to any issues I had.
His sense of humor was impeccable. Really hard to find a guy like him that even if you never met him face to face, that his amazing personality and interpersonal skills could carry through text and pictures to make a person feel like they'd known him for years.
Steve, I think you will be sorely missed both here on the boards and off (As he was an integral part of this community) and well, big guy, you just had to go on and beat the rest of us to the other side.
So in closing, besides losing an FTE brother, a Facebook friend, and the forum community losing such a generous guy...
I say just sit down, have a cold one and wait for us to catch up!
Rest easy big guy.
