My buddy is looking into buying a 93 F150, 4x4 with a 300. It has a 5 speed.
My understanding is that the half ton trucks came with the M5OD for their 5 speed transmissions. But looking for a clutch set, my work computers (napa) only list a clutch kit for the ZF5.
So, was the ZF5 ever put in the half tons? Or was the only option the M5OD?
Unless it's a one-in-a-million truck, I'm 99.9% sure it came with the Mazda. I also don't see why there would be a difference in clutches between the two.

Not sure about '93, but my '96 service manual says that the ZF5 was only applicable for F-series over 8500 GVW. So unless it was modified by previous owner (which is possible - it seems to be a popular mod amongst Ford enthusiasts) it does not have the ZF5.
When the pivot where the shift handle connects to the trans on my ZF5 broke, I could only find a replacement off of a F150 that I could only assume was converted, as all of the other F150's had a different trans, which the pivot point was completely different. Usually it's the 250's and up that have the ZF5.
