Trying to start a slow, but steady build as time allows. Major home repairs getting in way, but still working on, as doing others vehicles to bring a little cash in...The truck is at my home shop now, hoping can do more...I don't think my drag link is supposed to be bent. I have a 51 4dr car that's going to donate the flathead, have 99 Explorer rearend, and a B/W Trimec 5 speed for it, saving for rest of floor pans, front disc conversion, and speedway bellhouse...

Wow, (Mark?) really nice panel. Definitely looking forward to seeing more of its resurrection. Did it come from that feller' over in Edwards on 20 frontage near Hwy 22 exit? He's always got lots of interesting stuff.
Drop in the Chapter & say hello too. Looks like you do some really great work.
Yes it's "Mark"...lol I am friends with him, actually have a few other vehicles over his place. I had the truck delivered to me there before breaking the news i got new junk, and it's coming home...lol It's a Texas truck, which is why I figure it is as solid as it is.
This is my little playground behind my house. Had to give it a name, so pompous of me...lol https://www.facebook.com/AtkinsonsCustomPaintandBody
Even though still slicking the body, and doing minor body work have bought my paint. Using 1947 color chart truck will be 2 tone Monsoon Maroon, and Sahara tan.
AHh, new dilemma...Just got my hands on 3-1989, 5.0 HO Cobra engines, and trannys. Wanted to keep the flathead, but FI 302 makes a little more sence drivability wise.....Will have to ponder over yonder....lol
Thanks anyhow. Yes, too far to ship. Can't wait to see your maroon/cream paint job. Someday before too long I plan on selling my '37 1 1/2 ton and finding a '46-'47 one ton panel. I have too many flatbeds already.
When it comes to engine choices ask yourself what your plans with the truck are. I was originally going to go flathead with my '46, but then switched to a 351W when I decided that I wanted to be able to drive my truck year round, and for long road trips, be able to run A/C and wanted to be able to find parts easily if troubles arise on the road. The 5.0 will be a great choice, the aftermarket support is there for them. Even in stock form they will make that panel move.
You are right Gary. Old hot rodders have said for years that there is no substitute for cubic inches. And then when you add overhead valves to the equation.....Top speed limit on Orcas Island is 40 on our one straight stretch, so the flatheads work here, but the freeway trips like my doctor appointment on the mainland yesterday and picking up about a ton of supplies before the ferry on the way home, I took my updated drivetrain '59 f350. A guy can't have too many trucks.
