So I was looking at the Mile Marker 104 Lockouts on Amazon at $70 for a pair. This would be an easy way to upgrade and clean up the hubs. Does anyone have an opinion of these hubs?

I just looked on Amazon, at the mile marker 104 hubs, and they said that they did not fit the F 250?? Maybe I was looking at another year, as mine is a 1968 with the 12 bolt knuckle... ?? I rebuilt my hubs, with parts from Montana 4x4

old style Ford hub with aluminum center

aluminum center from Montana 4x4

I like the aluminum center way better than the Ford plastic on the original hubs..

Baja, I upgraded to a 1979 High Pinion Dana 44 so the Mile Marker fit that axle. I was working on it today. Got the passenger side knuckle off and cleaned up. Removed the upper Ball Joint but have to get the correct tool to do the lower one. I am very happy with the clean-up and how good a shape everything is in so far. I think I am going to replace the U-Joints. I am happy be making more progress.

Got the pics of what I did yesterday. One of the hubs is bad so will ne buying the replacements.

Cleaned up hub, found to be useable but not great.

Axle and knuckle removed. One ball joint out, knuckle cleaned.

Looks like you have most of the tools to do the job... and yes, I would love to upgrade front axles, mostly to get the high pinion, and disc brakes... drool drool..

Yeah, here in Texas probably so, but getting it all the way to the end of Baja, is another chore all together. Finding one in Baja is not so easy... as most old trucks there, are still running.. and working ranch trucks... I will keep looking though..

Nice work! I had the same issue with the hubs on mine, ended up getting new ones from Bronco Graveyard.

OK, that seals it for me. I think I might go ahead and replace the axle u-joints now as well. I am also going to clean and inspect the wheel bearings to see if they need replacing.

I would go ahead and replace all of it. They aren't that expensive, and might as well do it while it's apart, instead of having to tear it all apart to do it later!

Yeah, that's what I am looking at. If the bearings are perfect they will stay, other than that so far so good. Have to get new or rebuilt calipers. I am on the fence on the rotors since they are in good shape. I am also working on the rear brakes as well.

I'd keep the rotor if they can be turned. I'm going with new calipers. Not sure if I want the plastic or metal pistons.

Didn't even think about the plastic pistons now. The aluminum ones have been around for a long time.
