ALT gauge bypass

ALT gauge bypass
I needed a little help with a dash bezel swap I am performing on my 66. My truck was originally equipped with the dash bezel that included the ALT and Oil Pressure gauge on either side of the sweeper gauge, fuel and temp. I do not want to include this on the new bezel and simply terminated both of the wires. Without looking at the schematic, I have found that the ignition runs through the ALT wiring therefore I now have no ignition at all. My question is, can I simply run a fused 2 post junction box to bypass and trick the wiring was if the gauge was still there? If so what sized fuse would be recommended? Any help is much appreciated!

Posting links to 65 Ford truck wiring manual: Appears there are a couple different variations to the Alt. circuit. The 1st 3 links are diagrams, I am not an authority on auto electrical wiring; having said that, I would probly want to eliminate the entire circuit. Make sure to do the research, perhaps a member w/ more knowledge on the subject can provide advice?? The last link is of a drawing a member sent me when I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to install the 'alt' circuit where one did not exist. * May want to consider purchasing the manual, found it came in handy tracking down electrical gremlins, many of the Ford part supplier's carry them; or, purchase directly from the source (Jim Osborn Reproductions, inc) for $7.

Alt. circuit installed on 65 It has been several years since the installation, seem to recall it was a matter of taking the wire from the hot side of the starter relay and attaching it to a junction block; although, I decided to run the wire to a 50 amp fuse to one side and ran a wire to from the other side of the fuse to the gauge. From pic can see where a wire then run from the batt. side of solenoid to the other side of the gauge. Again, can't stress enough to do the research so there's no possibility of having a hot circuit going nowhere??
