In the future I plan on getting a system for my truck ('87 BII). I was wondering, is there a way I can figure out how to install one (unless it's cheap) myself, or is it a complicated procedure?

www.stereoinstallparts.com - This is were you will get your wiring harness and dash adapter. Both are needed and I believe they come with instructions.
Once you've shopped around and got all yer stuff and still have any questions I'll walk you through it.

I would say but a radio from Crutchfield They will give you all you need to install a radio including a wiring for dummies type of diagram for your truck. Installing a radio will take an easy 45-60 minutes. The wiring is the easy step, its mounting the radio that sometimes is a pain.
