Ok, so from time to time I get little ideas in my head. This time it's what I should do with the rims on my car when it comes time to put the snow tires back on.
Mine is dark brown instead of gray, but anyways, I have the aluminum turbines like the picture, only difference is that I have white letters instead of white walls. The pair of snow tires I have are on black steel rims. I figure when I put the snow tires on back, the rims won't match. Of course, it's only looks, but I'm wondering what to do.
1. Leave them as is.
2. Paint the steel rims a different color. If so, which color?
3. Find some sort of hub cap. If so, what kind?
Geez, now that I've typed this out it just seems stupid.
This pick is the closest I could find to my car.

Yes, but you see, I'm very cheap and I'm just throwing out a thought. Though, I do wish I would have thought about that when I went to get the extra steel rims, but at the time I had steel rims and hub caps. My mom bought a grand marquis like mine and had the turbines, but she didn't like the turbines and I switched them on the cars cause I love the turbines.
If your turbines are in good shape, then get another pair of steel rims and run all steel in the winter, saving the turbines for the nicer weather. I wish I had done that on a previous G/M that I owned; the wheels got so corroded from the salt that they all developed slow leaks, and the whitish corrosion looked awful. A local shop wanted $250 APIECE to sand-blast the rims and clear-coat them, and even then they wouldn't guarantee their work. SAVE THOSE TURBINES!! I've got the wire wheel covers on my current '89, and they look "okay," but no comparison to the turbines.
well what ya can do is throw it on a 4x4 frame gettcha some 35's on some 15x10's and never worry about it again till the tires wear out. ive acctually seen it done to a lincoln looked pretty good
