Body Swap

My 2001 is covered up in rust, looking to do a body swap with a 1999 from Texas, it is a v10 and 4x2 I have a 7.3 and 4x4 so just looking to do body only, any idea if this is too crazy to complete??

Keep the '99, it's gotta be one of a kind.

The 99 might be a Ford concept truck that escaped the testing grounds!

Do you work at a BMV, this isn't the first time this would be done, the pics and title would be fine. Thanks for nothing.

The fact it's from Texas it wouldn't surprise me, every big truck seems to be 2wd down there for whatever reason, I've looked at F250 an F350 from there and the whole state is pretty much 2wd

No, actually:

Aside from having a 1999 EX(?), you will probably have to swap the wiring harness (for the ESOF) and you will need the interior dash (for the ESOF).

If the body is so rusted, how is the frame? Seems you way want to do an engine swap instead.

Vtown, the guys were just doing a little friendly ribbing because there is no such animal as a 1999 Excursion.

Just a little teasing in the fellowship is all, brother.

I copy, didn't pick up the sarcasm... I thought they started making them mid year 1999 so I wasn't alarmed either, but I ran the history report and the ******* that listed it for sale doesn't know what year it is, came back a 2001.

I was aware of dash and wiring issues, I guess I wasn't sure about a motor swap and then what all would be entailed as far as making a 4x2 a 4x4 think that seems like the hard part.

Depending on how much you can get the donor for and how bad your current Ex's frame is... you might be better off buying a rust free 4x4 with the engine you want.

Drive the clean one in summer and bedliner the rusted one as your winter beater

Well I thought the same thing too, but then I double checked the wiki to make sure and it said 1999-2005...
