I did a contribution test when I first started this thread. Injectors 2 and 8 (and rarely injector 3) would be all over the place on the charts during the test. I shut the injectors off one by one and the engine didn't stumble like it should of with 2 and 8 off. 3 it made some difference but half the effect.
Engine was at Operating temp when tests were performed.
Possible stiction? I'd hate to replace them if all they need is a cleaning.
Injector buzz test they all clicked the same. None were missing.
Replace those 3 injectors. If you want to swap those into different holes and see if the cont. Fault follows. You could also do a manual compression test. I have a truck that had a scored cyl. And most of the top ring was gone. It would only miss between 100 and 180 degrees.
I won't promote the Hot Shot's as a "better" product, but I will say we attack stiction in a different way. Rev-x is a nano lubricant that makes the stiction not as sticky. A lot of guys like the instant results they get with this approach (Archoil 9100 does the same thing). The approach we decided to take was to rid the engine completely of stiction. We use a very strong detergent pack that dissolves the stiction. It can take more time (up to 4,000 miles) to rid the engine of stiction. But the follow up is just 1/2 treatment every 3rd oil change.
Better yet, where can I get either 1 of the 3 in the Houston Area? I've heard a lot of good talk about Rev-X. Just recently found out about HSS and Archoil but read good things too
Well I just changed the oil, oil filter, and has a brand new MAP sensor. She's reading boost on the dash again.
But good Lord I forgot how little power she had! I took her for a quick run and I had to get on the shoulder because I could not for the life of me get up to speed. I run faster than the trucks take off, and I'm a big guy lol.
No codes.
Bar is still stuck at 29.5"Hg
Map is around 31"Hg and moves a few tenths.
Arethe 3 accelerator positions supposed to be the same or 2 the same and 1 different?
D is 19.2 E is 29.4 F is 18.4
Let the truck sit for an hour. Disconnected the ICP and cranked on easier. Drove it and it got some a punk back. Still weak on take off but at least I'm not as paranoid of anyone t boning me anymore.
Should the pcm throw a code of the ICP is bad?
