ashtray?
Can anyone tell me what the difference is in the ashtray for the 2000 excursion ltd. I am trying to find one but when I do it says either, from2/2000 and runs like 30 bucks, or it says up to 2/2000 but they are like 75 bucks. Mine was built 10/99. My son thinks ( because he saw this on his 2000 f250 SD ) the difference is the newer one has a hook for the plastic grocery bag etc. and the older one doesn't, but they both fit. Can any one give me a definitive answer?

You guys are right, the 99-00 had an actual ash tray. I use mine for a coin holder. The late 00-05's had a trash hook, I dont think there was a tray involved.
The other option is to upgrade to the 05 style lower console which came in the super duty's and had a larger glove box and upfitters.

Same on my '01. My lower dash has the trash hook as well.

That's what IO am finding, in early 2000, they changed the ashtray from the lower dash to in between the cup holder, so I since mine is a 10/99 built EX, I need the ashtray and am just trying to find it. thanks for your responses so far.
