I have a few questions with my 2000 expy EB. First off, everytime I accelerate, my tranny jumps up about 1000rpm or less then after a few seconds it levels off, it does that at all speeds and all gears, wondering if this is normal. second, my backup sensor/alarm quit working, Im looking for sugestions on a remedy for this,,
Qballs,
My Expedition does the same thing if the converter is locked up. It seems like any change in throttle position, depending on speed can cause the converter's clutch to release. It has done it since it was new, I have had the trans serviced and now have about 57K miles on it.

Yup its a 2000 eddie bauer. It has an on/off switch on the center console and four sensors on the rear bumper, not aftermarket, the owners manual talks all about it.

yeah.. I believe 2000 was the first year it was a option from what I have read...
QBALLS, our 2000 EB EXPY also has the reverse (anti-running over small people) sensing system. Ours was also not working, showing the "off" light on the button when the truck was put into reverse. After taking it to a dealer, they ran diags and found out that two sensors needed replaced. Lucky for us we were still under warranty. Everything works great now. Im sure any ford dealership can run the diag for you. Good Luck!
