On my way to work this morning I encountered a slow down on the highway. This was one of 3 moose killed this during this mornings commute.
$1,130 later I have new 275/50R22 Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires and a new set of TPM sensors. LET IT SNOW!
Also received a super late b-day gift from my other half, a dash cam. I'll install that and review it in the coming days.

Russ,
Have you ever tried an all-terrain tire that carries the mountain-snowflake rating?
I know dedicated winter tires are the best, but I've seen several all terrains that als have the winter rating. BFGoodrich all terrain t/a and General grabber at2 both carry the winter endorsement. Just curious how those might fare for those of us who no longer enjoy having dedicated winter tires.

That said I've driven plenty of cars/trucks with all seasons, all terrains in the winter months and was appalled at the traction. BFG's, Duratracs and Grabber AT2s are pretty decent, but do not provide the traction I want to have. You can "get by" with just about anything, just depends how you want to deal with winter roads.
Don't even get me started on how absolutely terrible my Nitto Terra Grapplers are on any type of slick surface. You would think you were driving with racing slicks on it's down right scary!

Russ, have you ever tried Firestone Winterforce studless snow tires? They're about the best I've seen. I ran a set on my old blue 2006 truck a few years back and had no problems going anywhere! This winter I'm going to use the Cooper AT3's on my Beast mostly because I don't have space right now to store an extra set of tires, and because I don't have the money to buy another set. The AT3's should be pretty good

So I installed my dash cam tonight, tried it out for the first time. I think I'm going to be very happy with it.

I know of several people that have added that to their daily driver. And have had it for evidence in court to use in auto accidents. My son, Tim had one that quit working (cheap one) just before he was in an accident a month ago.
I wish I had one going in the 2011 when the trees fell on it.
