I've searched and keep coming up with 6+ year old post.
It's time for me to take off my ladder rack. So I'll have to ask what are you guys using for bed rail covers/caps? BAK industries claims a PCF6 fits. It looks like it also fits up to 1990's trucks. So I don't have much faith in the fitment.
I believe "hard points" on the bed were the same through the 90's so not too surprised on the wide range of years called out for fit. That said, any type of cap is also a moisture and rust trap... at least where I live (IL). I ditched my tailgate cap just in time before serious rust set in. I was repainting so not too hard to clean it up, prime and paint.
Even if not doing a full repaint of the bed, suggest you clean, prime and paint the "caps" of the bed with a matched color. A masked line can look neat and a lot better than rust now or later.
