I recently put a 4wd frame and running gear under my 1978 camper special and the 4wd had a 400 but I put my 460 on it. The nose of the pickup is pretty low so I was wondering where and what kind of add a leaf I could get to lift the nose up a bit (2" or so). Thanks.
There's no reason to get in a pissing match...I ask few questions on this forum and most of the time people have useful information for me. Instead of me stumbling around the internet I figured someone could point me in a general direction and I could figure it out from there. I need to lift the front of my 78 3/4 ton 4wd pickup about 2" that is using stock leafs and shocks so I figured an add-a-leaf would work but I'm not sure where to look or what to get. All you need to say is "I would try this website" or "you should use this setup" so if you don't have anything useful to suggest just don't say anything...a forum is for frequent questions and answers so have some respect for a guy who converted a 2wd 78 camper special into a 4wd that has a question or two.
Ck out JC Whitney, they had the cheapest add-a leaf (Skyjacker brand?) $80 a few years ago. I got it and used it on my silver 77, cause the 33's were to close to the front fender edge.
It was easier to install once I removed the front springs all together, and used a vice to compress the pack to get the new spring pack center pin/bolt back in and tightened down.
FYI your spring clamps will have to moved back a bit. And since its off great time to replace the bushings? Double ck the fitment for the 2nd link provided. I was quick shopping. lol
