I have an 89 f350 with a 460 (that I am currently away from) and was wondering if it had one?

It varies depending on whether you're talking trans or engine..........the concept came from the aviation industry............

My 89 has a remote mount cooler up in front of the radiator, all from the factory.

my 1992 460 has a factory engine oil cooler that is attached to block at oil filter port. It is cooled by the radiator coolant running through it.

My '88 has a factory oil cooler.

...and trans cooler, and power steering cooler, and A/C condenser, plus the radiator.
I just yanked it all out and trashed it. It's getting a drivetrain swap anyways. Engine is coming out tomorrow!

Don't throw that oil cooler stuff away! The guys that have oil-to-coolant coolers that have failed will want it.

Cool, thanks guys. Im glad mine has one then! Im putting the engine in a 54 f600 so an oil cooler will be ideal for that!

The only thing 'good' in my system was the adapter on the block. The lines and the cooler in the grille itself was shot. Oil cooler kits are relatively cheap anyways.

That adapter IS the most important part to save. All the other stuff is easily replaced by aftermarket parts but that adapter is perfect and nothing else works as good.
