WELL im about to show my utter ignorance and newness to this whole thing.What the heck does NOS stand for when refering to part. I see it on ebay ,forums,and parts sites.Sorry for taking up space with such a obvious question

In your case it was made in 1960 for a replacement part. Like if something broke, your ford dealer had the "N.O.S" part to replace the broken one with. Hence the name "new" "old" "stock" get it? Don't worry I didn't even there was such a thing a few years back. -4speed

Actually it's parts that were original manufacturer replacement parts when the vehicle was new, much as you'd buy a replacement alternator for a new vehicle today. In 20 years that same alternator on the shelf today would then be NOS.
