Welcome to FTE jamesbrandon. I moved your posts out of the welcome thread and started a new thread in the Ranger and B series forum, so you can get some help.
Have you ever had the trans serviced? Fluid change, filter, and maybe necessary adjustments? Automatics today are VERY sensitive to fluid requirements(using the right fluid), and how you use your truck will determine your service intervals. What kind of mileage on this vehicle, and how do you use it daily??
First thing to do is check the fluid level and condition. Get the transmission hot and have the engine idling on level ground. Remove the transmission dipstick, wipe it clean, and re-insert it into the tube. Pull it out and check the level for being in range. Check the color and smell of the fluid. If black or very dark and stinky, you may have internal damage. If low, add fluid about a cup at a time until the fluid level reaches normal level. Check for improved operation.
There is a section further down the site for transmission problems...
