questions

Hey,

I have a few questions!

First what are the functions of the o2 sensors? If changed could i get better gas milage?

Whats the best way to clean fuel injectors?

What other sensors could i clean to improve gas milage?

What should i do to give my truck a good tune up ... as in get power back and improve gas milage?

I have the 4.2L v6 and it has 224.000 on it and it needs a tune up! I am also doing exhaust! I am highly considering the gibson side exit, and some high flow cats. you guys think that would sound good or crappy like a v6 with exhaust usually sounds?

Thanks, KMAN

02 Sensor, I think that pretty much monitors your exhaust and it has to do with the emissions laws. I dont think molesting it will do anything for power!

For a tune up you could change the plugs & wires, K&N filter, Flowmaster 40 series. They make a couple SI/DO & double cat models. Not exactly sure about the flowmaster though, just brainstorming.

I think you may be able to get the Diablo chip for it too. I have stayed away from it personally. I think that without making any actual engine mods, the chip will just rod the heck out your engine and all around decrease the life of it.

Hope I helped a little!

Sorry that it took so long for someone to reply. Thanks David for noticing and replying
If the O2's are working properly you probably wont notice much difference in mileage or power but with 224,000 on them I wouldnt be surprised if they were getting "lazy". It wouldn't hurt to change them.
About the only sensor that benefits from cleaning would be the MAF.
