engine oil

What type and weight is recommended for my 04 f250 with the 6.0, I saw that a guy on Facebook had a couple of cases of 15W-40 Mobil Delvac oil for sale for 50.00

Most on here ( myself included ) run a full synthetic 5W-40 CJ-4 rated diesel oil, rotella T-6 5W-40 is pretty popular and is what I run. Just what ever you run make sure it is made for use in diesel engines and carries the CJ-4 rating and make sure you are only using OEM/Racor filters with an OEM oil filter cap.

15W40 is fine, especially if you live where it's hot. My ECT/EOT is never really under 80 from June to October no matter how long it sits, so it's 6/half dozen as far as what's better right now. I'd be fine using it.
