I'm looking to buy a new radiator for my 390 as the current one leaks in two places, top tank and one of the rows. My tank measures 19 3/8" between the tanks, so from my understanding that is the shorter of the options. My problem is that I have 3 cores/rows, and any replacement I can find for 19 3/8" only has 2 cores. Where can I find a 19 3/8" tall core with 3 core rows?
Also, some places sell 19 3/8" tall radiators with & without "Heavy Duty Cooling", does anyone know what that is exactly? Is that the difference I'm looking for, in relation to how many rows?
Lastly, can someone either point me towards a specification list or tell me how many quarts of ATF I'll need to put back into my C6 after I just replace the pan gasket? I know it's 12qt when including the Torque Converter but I wont be flushing so I should need less.
Thank you very much!
Real Quick: Anyone in need of a rusty while 16.5" x 6.75" 8 lug rim? I have one...
Thank you very much! I have that number saved for when I can afford one.
I have another question that I'm sure is simple and has been answered many times; how do I tighten up the column shifter/selector? I have an automatic but it's a tiny bit loose, and it's just loose enough that my reverse lights don't stay on unless I hold the stick up while backing up.
Wow 433444 is expensive! As long as it's 3 core then it's what I need, though. No place that sells it tells me if it's 3 coreEdit: Summitracing confirms that it is indeed 3 core., so I think I'll just have to trust it. Either I could score it for $272 at amazon.com or $350 through Napa at work (Napa is where we order 90% of needed parts), where I can pay it off by paycheck. Decisions.
How do I tighten up my column shift selector by the way?
Make sure on the radiator that the mounting flanges are the correct way. For me they were the wrong brackets. I had to have my original ones put on the new radiator.
And what I mean is my column selector is kind of sloppy, and while in reverse it has just enough slop that it doesn't keep my reverse lights on. If I hold the selector up while it's in reverse, the reverse lights stay on. I figured the selector and column assembly must be loose and sagging a little. Also my turn signals don't return to off on their own when the turn is complete, if that means anything. I have to turn them off manually.
Hmm. I'm not sure about that one. I have floor shift in my truck. But my turn signals are manual too. ( I try not to use them if I can help it, they are touchy and if I don't get it back to center my brake light won't work. )
Okay, I'll have to look around some more, thank you though! Do you happen to know the fluid capacity of the C6 transmission excluding the Torque Converter? Going to be replacing my pan gasket soon
is it the column with the linkage in the engine compartment? They have plastic bushings that connect the shifter to the actual linkage that get brittle and break. I am just brainstorming what I have seen in the past come up on the forums. I have also heard that the shift collar is cheap pot metal and wears out and breaks. check it for cracks.

The original collar had the pointer made as part of it, this replacement has a slot in the collar that the plastic pointer slips in to.
The collar is pot metal, has an internal bridge that connects it to the shift tube. Over time, the bridge begins to crack, eventually breaks off.
