Guess I don't know what you are referring to as a plug. Egr valve comes out hard sometimes. Take a small pry bar and pry it up after unhooking the wire harness from it
If I understand right you're asking about the electrical connector? Wiring harness/plug has a latch on it. Look closely, when your get it unlocked it comes off easily. Kinda hard to explain online but you can do it with your finger. A small screwdriver might let you pry around on it a bit to find the latch. Just be easy with the screwdriver the latch can be broken easily.
Thanks Rusty, there is two little taps on the sides.I've used a small screw driver and lt starts to come off than stops.I'am one of those guys that something always goes wrong and it cost more or takes more time.
The two small ones on the side unlatch so you can pull the backshell off the plug. The one you are after faces the rear of the truck. The edge of it is even with where the plastic part ends. If I'm not mistaken it will also come off if you squeeze in the top part of the latch. Sort of a see-saw deal.
Thanks guys, who would of figured that looking at the two taps on the sides of the plug that there was a release on the back side. Going to be almost 100 today, so I think cleaning the egr valve can wait.
