Hi all ! Anyone use the Edelbrock 61629 on the 400 ? With stock pistons ? What should I be aware of and what should ( if anything ) I change ? Thanks 😋
What would be the best way to get ahold of Tim ? I tryed on face book and as of yet nothing . I was hoping he would see my post but he's a busy guy from what I hear ! These other heads out there what would be better about them and price wise for the bang factor ? I had my other ones disaper from the shop I took them too (did some porting and matching on them myself but the exhaust seats couldn't handle the octane ) so I got these for $1800 . What all do I need to use them ? I have already a complete top end , cam , intake, timing set , carb , from Edelbrock and headmen headers on the motor . The engine itself only has about 4000km since rebuild and just want to have a little more fun with my 76 step side 2 wheel drive with top loader 4 spd was thinking of changing to a 5spd. Also bought new eddy push rods . Just want to pull boat or camper to the lake and cruise with it ( maybe smell the tires time to time ) any ideas or help would be great thanks !
What all would I need to put these pistons in ,would I need different rods ? What would my compression be with these 62cc heads ? Will I need to play with valve reliefs any info would help ? I know I could go with other heads (CHI or trick) but already have these just want to know a little more about them or I'm going to build up a 302 for a different project and just get a set of rebuild cast heads .
. Rods are the same 351M or 400... TMI pistons modified to go right on those rods... Compression ratio depends on which pistons used... 62cc heads prolly give 9.8 - 10.8 range...
