My 2006 f350 King ranch pulls to one side or the other when I accelerate. Could this be a bad four wheel drive vacuum solenoid. It doesn't seem to do it when the hubs are locked. It tries to pull the truck back and forth across my lane when the hubs aren't locked
To Check the U-Joint
Leave Hubs Unlock and in 2wd
Turn wheels Full left and then spin BY HAND with truck in Park the Ujoint and axel each side (Do they spin Smooth?? Should have no PLAY)
Turn wheels Full Rightt and Repeats above process
Do it on Last Time Wheels STRAIGHT Ahead And Spin ujoint-axel again
But could be wrong you will have to check all the Balljoints and tie rods
you can also check them Its Easier for me to Pull the front Tire to check Balljoint but you can pry it while looking when jacked up
I just took it ti BigO and had them checked. They said they were good however the ball joints are a little worn. I still think it's the four wheel vacuum solenoid because it doesn't pull when I let off the accelerator or drive with the hubs locked.
Are you sure your hubs arent trying to lock when you accelerate? Sounds almost like its stuck in 4x4. Crank the wheel all the way to left or right and turn in a tight circle, see if you feel a bucking sensation, if you do theyre locked. Mine did this, and cycling the 4x4 switch fixed it. The vac solenoid was stuck on mine sending vacuum to the hubs all the time. Does it tend to wander into ruts in the road?
