Hello all, I am BRAND NEW to this forum. My name is Mike and I own a towing company here in Florida. Heres my issues. I own 3 F450 Tow trucks ONE 2012 and TWO 2013's ALL 3 are v10 gas. Here is my situation. Since I have drivers who drive these trucks on a regular basis I am having a hard time keeping them from letting my trucks idle and also speeding. All my trucks top out at 83 mph. But I would like to govern them to maybe 65 or 70. NOONE and I mean NOONE that I have talked to can give me any advice on where to buy something that I can set so that I can have the trucks shut off after like 15 minutes or so. I have GPS on all 3 trucks. It will send me an alert email if they exceed 30 minutes. I have found that I get too many emails at night time when I had it set to 15 minutes. Talking to them doesn't work Docking pay doesn't work. I simply have NO solution. Does anyone have any insight on where to go to get something that will help me control my fuel costs etc.?? If it were a diesel then it would be a whole lot easier to control but NOT a gas motor. I have talked to bullydog chip makers, diablo, and a few others. NOONE has a solution. PLEASE PLEASE help me with some good advice. Thank you for your time.

So, to paraphrase, you want a device that will shut the truck down if it idles for over 15 minutes, and you want to limit the top speed to 65 or 70 MPH?

I'd start with 5 star tuning, see if they can build you a custom tune for the speed limiter. They are highly recommended. Not sure about the idle timer, but maybe they can help.
