vacuum line help!!!
- Power brakes: It normally goes to a vacuum "tree" that screws into the back of the intake manifold.
- PCV: You should have a large hose going from the back of the carb, usually, to a PCV valve in the rear of the passenger's side valve cover. And, you should also have a hose from the driver's side oil filler cap to a little filter in the air cleaner.
- Vacuum modulator to tranny: there should be a plastic manifold on the firewall, and it will have a line going to the "tree" just mentioned and another to the transmission's vacuum modulator
- Vacuum advance: Hopefully your distributor has a vacuum advance unit on it. If so there should be a line from ported vacuum on the carb, meaning a port that has no vacuum at idle but does have vacuum just above idle and all the way up.
- HVAC: I don't think you have A/C from what I can see in the pics, but if you do there will be another vacuum line from the plastic manifold on the firewall to a tee over by the blower motor. One side of the tee goes to a vacuum reservoir, either a round plastic ball or a can. The other side goes into the cab. But if you don't have A/C you won't have that.

Also the carb is either going to be rebuilt or replace.Thats why it's disconnected in the pics. Thank you for getting back to me. Also I replace duraspark module. Sorry for the questions. Again thanks for the help and info. If there any pics needed to help further more on my issue with vacuum lines? Thanks,
Matt

My 351w which the vacuum hook ups are very simmilar, I have multiple photos of this engine with no aircleaner on but you cant really see the vacuum hose hook ups.
If you can try to find a vacuum/wiring diagram, ford released diagrams for their vehicles in the 70`s and 80`s that showed how the wiring hooked up as well as where vacuum hoses connect between.
But later today I can take some pics of how I have Rusty set up, mark them up, and post them - if that would help.
This first one shows everything you need if you have no smog equipment but do have power brakes, factory air, and a C6 auto. But, not all trucks came with the plastic manifold on the firewall, so if you don't have one you can either get one at a salvage or install a tee or two.
This one shows the HVAC hookup for factory air.
Here's a better look at the vacuum advance hookup. But, this is where an Edelbrock carb has ported vacuum, so if you have a different carb you'll have to figure out what port has no vacuum at idle but vacuum above idle.
And lastly, a look behind the carb showing the PCV valve-to-carb hose and the vacuum tree. Note that not all carbs have the PVC hookup on the back and you may have to use a port in the intake manifold. And not all trucks came with the vacuum tree, although you should be able to get one at the salvage easily.
This is kind of important if you want that C6 to shift like it is supposed to.
