What ever API approved CJ4 rated oil that's on sale. Your main determination is dino or synthetic. I personally use the synthetic.

There's a pretty good thread and long running test on The Diesel Garage about T5 10W30 with Archoil AR9100. Makes it a about $20 more than T6, but looks like good results, going to run it on my next change.

I'm running a combination of Super Tech (from break-in), Mobil TDT, and Delo Syn. Truck is starting super fast these days and seems to like it pretty dang well. Next change will be 0W-40 Case synthetic HDDO since I acquired it for a bargain price. I'm hoping this oil change won't be until the weather starts to get cold, but not sure I'll make it.

I'm still running Rotella 0W40, I acquired four 5 gallon buckets of the stuff.

I ran the mobile 1 TDT 5-40 till I ran out. back to Schaeffer 9000 5W-40 full synthetic. Like what's been mentioned. Only use motorcraft or racor filters only!!!

John Deere Plus 50 II 10w-30, no need for additives.

My truck has 500 mi. under 200,000, and have been running above mentioned lube since 80,000 mi. (prior fill was JD 15w-40 since new) without issue, UOA's always come back stellar at 7,500 mi OCI.

Side note;
Factory fill was left in 7,500 mi interval.
I have NEVER experienced stiction, even at -40 cold starts and never had an injector issue.
I have posted UOA's here and elsewhere for those who haven't seen one.
It still amazes me when these threads start and all of the oil additive talk dominates, when you choose an extended life oil extra additives are not needed.
This oil cost approx. $17 a gallon computed out to 7,500 mi. OCI its much cheaper than the competition.
The JD 15w-40 is $14 a gallon, and still $11 a gallon if purchased in bulk.

I have been running Rotella Dino 15-40, and put that in last night when I changed oil. Next oil change I may go with the 5-40 synthetic to see what all the buzz is about.

I run either t6 5w 40 or Mobil syn 5w 40. Oem filter and cap. It likes cold starting a lot more with the syn.

Royal Purple 15W-40 has been run in my 6.0 since it was new. My mechanic always is amazed at how clean it looks. I am going to get an oil analysis on it in a few weeks

I get it for $7.56/qt shipped to me from Amazon.

Just picked up 3 jugs of Chevron Delo 5-40 to the tune of 27 bucks and change. Ordered a Racor filter which ran about the same as a jug of oil.
