That bolt, with an 8.8 marking, is a metric bolt. Here's a link to a site that explains the metric markings: Metric Grades Steel Bolts I believe it is roughly equivalent to an SAE Grade 5, but will post a link to a pic of those in a mo.

And, this thread says:
US Grade 2 = approx metric property class 5.8
US Grade 5 = approx metric property class 8.8
US Grade 8= approx metric property class 10.9
US Grade (?) 8+ = approx metric property class 12.9
As you probably saw in the picture of Rusty's bracket, whomever did it used Grade 5 bolts, which have 3 radial lines. (To get the grade add 2 to the # of lines.) It seems to be working fine.
US Grade 5 = approx metric property class 8.8
US Grade 8= approx metric property class 10.9
US Grade (?) 8+ = approx metric property class 12.9

well one of my bushing kits did not come with a new nut so I need to wait for the stores to open tomorrow and get that. It's a stover nut so you can't get them just anywhere.
In the meantime it's just as well,I tried putting some heat to one of the stover nuts on the end but I think I need an oxy/acet torch, this little butane torch isn't doing the trick. It's also windy so that's not helping either
There is a place where I can rent a hoist and a torch but he is closed for 2 weeks for vacation.
Done with for today anyhow.
