1966 F150 build

Ok, here ya' go. I spent all day getting phase one complete. The body is stripped off of the Bronco chassis. After a closer inspection of the '66 pick up, the floors and cab supports are rotted beyond repair. So some careful measuring revealed that the Bronco floor is the same size as the pick up floor. This will solve the body mount issue as well. I should be able to cut the floor out of the '66, then weld the Bronco floor in it and bolt it back down to the frame.

Anyway, here's the progress. This is where I started today.

About lunch time I was here.

And then by the end of the day I was here. Bronco bodies are HEAVY! I flipped it off with Tiff's help, but I think I hurt myself. I'll wheel the chassis around front and get the '66 body off tomorrow. I also have to measure and cut out the floor section of the Bronco to be grafted in later. This should be fun to get all welded together.

I wouldn't feel right about you guys giving me a hand on a customer's car (truck). I can't pay you guys and I would feel like I needed to. I'm not making hardly anything, but I wouldn't feel right about taking your labor when I'm getting paid for the job. I greatly appreciate the offer though.

Alan ask for help and except the offer to help. All you are doing by being stubborn headed and working alone is hurting yourself (especially physically) and WE as your friends do not want to see that happen.

You as a intelligent person should see that and take the help offered, so you can continue to be able to physically work and that's friggin that!!!

I can see me bringing my mobile over head hoist down to you when I leave for the next rotation, chain lift and all. Sorry I am not there not as you would already have it in your yard and not be doing all this stuff by back strength.

Smarter not harder, besides I need you in shape to help me in a few weeks.

And it looks like a cool project, as long as you do not kill or paralyze yourself in the process.

How about a call into your bed side hit and run kid????? Where the hell is he at?

My temper got the better of me yesterday. What a day. Instead of blowing apart at the seams, I flipped the bronco body around the yard. It was good stress relief. (and I got loaded on the trailer.) Physically, I feel fine. I'm still a little grumpy though.

I got the chassis pressure washed and in the garage yesterday. I also got the bronco body's floor cut out and the carcass loaded back on the trailer. I have a couple more parts to take of, but then it can get out of here. I'll get some pictures today. It was dark by the time I got done yesterday.

The ol body on the outside looks like it WAS in pretty good shape, till you flipped it around the yard tough guy!

Glad you feel better now, now ask for some help.

Ha ha ha tough guy. I like that term for him Rich, It kinda suits him, or at least my opinion of him being a former soldier and determined to do things himself.

I agree with you. He's kinda stubborn but I understand since he knows it's done right if he does it...especially since his name is on it.

I hear ya on that one, I am sure you have the same tenacity for detail since it is your name that goes with that paint job or the work.

I just hate to see a guy work so hard to almost break his back again.......

If you do not slow down when you should, your body will let you know when it time.

I am definitely in a younger mans work gig right now... I am constantly telling myself "work deliberately".

But in this line of work its always been "get the job done and take off in the helo before they start shelling ya".

Unless you are like RC and just go like the energizer bunny.
