I have a 1965 F100 and I'm wanting to restore it to original condition is as close as I can. So far I was able to find a straight 6 but now I need a three speed trans and bellhousing column shift.
I plan on searching the local pick & pluck junk yards but I'm not exactly sure what identification markings to look for or the length of the tail shaft.
I'm located in southern California ( LA Orange County area) if you have one laying around and have no need for it let me know.

1965/66 F100 240/300 I-6 with Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all syncromesh trans:
The length of the wheelbase (either 114" or 129") makes a difference in the length of the output shaft and extension housing.
If you bought this truck without an engine or transmission, I would assume you're also missing the shift rods from the trans to the steering column.
If these are missing, they can be a real b!tch to find, even here in LA LA Land! Suggest trying to locate a complete truck with the apropos wheelbase and get all the parts that are missing from it.
btw: The Warner T-98 4 speed referenced in post 2 will not fit any 1965 and later truck.
Thanks number dummy, it is a short wheel base 114" and I believe I have all of the linkage for the truck. So a three speed with syncromesh will fit but how can an untrained eye spot one out? What will the ID Tag have on it?

The ID tag will probably be long gone and even if it's there, there are a gazillion different ID numbers for the correct trans.
Try calling Anaheim Gear in Orange. They usually have just about anything you could ever need for any manual transmission, including complete units . I believe their number is 714-778-1103.
