Speaker location for a 90'
I'm planning on installing a stereo and some decent speakers in the beast over the summer (tired of listening to NPR on the freeway), and have some questions. It seems that only one speaker in the truck works, the drivers door panel. Are there other places in the truck (extended cab) I can fit some speakers, one in each door panel isn't going to cut it. It's a 90' Lariat, no speaker cutouts in the back paneling of the truck. Thx-

The front speakers are 6.5"
You can put speakers about anywhere, under the seats, under the rear seat, make a box etc etc. You could go find some plastic panels for the rear of your supercab off a 92+ truck and put speakers in there.

Speaker location for a 90'
i own a '89 ford F-150 lariat. i encounterd the same problem with the speakers. i decided to purchase factory upgades for the 2 speakers in the doors. i also added 2 6x9's behind the seat. they fit very good in a box, and dont take up to much room. Just a suggestion. later

hey chops. you should post this in the audio forum as well. i have an 88 with no rear speakers. i put in two 5.5" in the doors with a good quality (but low power MTX amp) and a sub in the rear. it rocks. all you need is two speakers up front (mine have spearate tweeters) and a sub with good amps and it will be awesome. of course you can cut holes in the rear but try good fronts on the doors, a sub in the back and some amps then if you are still not happy go with rear speakers too. trust me you will be happy with just fronts and a sub. i bought Polk Audio MOMO speakers. they have a website (POLKMOMO) i think.
