Crew Cab window tinting

I'm looking to go get my windows in my truck tinted. I have a Lariat, Crew Cab and the rear passenger windows and rear windows have privacy glass. I want to darken the front windows to give the truck a nice look. I was just wondering how much a tint job usually costs, and if I just put tint in the front windows, or over too of the privacy glass also.. Thanks for any help in advance

In 2012 in Cincinnati it cost me $120 to get the front two windows to match the rear and a visor strip.

In winchester, va I got fronts (35%), supercab rears (20%), and the rear window with slider done (20%) for $170 on a 2003 XL that has almost no factory tint at all.

It cost me $70 to have the old tint removed on the front two windows and have new tint installed. In Texas.

There was a special at a local Audio place, i did my fronts for 75$. Cant remember the % numbers, but the guy could not do the front windows the same as the back if i wanted it to be legal(Maine state laws). But i must say when you step back and look from a distance they pretty much look the same.Tinting the windows is one of the best things I've done to that truck, totally changes the look!

I had 90% put on across the back windows, 80% on the rear doors, and 50% on the front doors for $275. Technically, the 50% on the front doors was illegal where I lived at the time, but since it was noticeably lighter than the rear doors, it didn't arouse suspicion.

Jared - just make sure you find out what the legal limits are in your area before you spend your money and take the chance of getting tickets. Also, applying a tint over factory tinted windows will give you a deeper tint than what is indicated on the tint packaging.
Most reputable tint shops I have dealt with have a meter where they can test the opacity of the tint.

I don't know what your local laws are there for tint. I was nowhere near legal. I paid $150 for my Crew Cab windows. I went as dark as I could find. Looked sharp, but driving at night was interesting... especially when towing!
Here's a pic..

$65 for just my fronts. The factory tint is ok for me on the rears. I had a F150 that the PO tinted over the factory tint and it was too dark for me.

3m 20% is an exact match from the exterior. Around me it ran 75$ a window. 50$ base and 25$ 3m upgrade. Not to dark but I would recommend Cree LED backup lights to go along with it.

For clarification, color density can be measured in transmission, or how much light gets through, or absorption, or how much light is absorbed by the filter medium, in this case window film. Extremely dark tint can either be described as 90% absorption, or 10% transmission. Depending who you're talking to, tint could be described either way.
I've had windows tinted on several vehicles, and even the shops doing the tint aren't all using the same way to describe color density.

I just had my 2014 tinted and something that I highly recommend is havingthe windshield filmed. They have a film that is transparent that blocks90% of the harmful radiation that messes up our dashes and the most amazingthing is that it blocks over 75% of the heat transferred into the trucksinterior. I live in Florida and it is amazing to get in my truck and nothave to swelter when I first get in. I liked it so much that I took itback to the installer and said hey why didn't you do my sunroof while I washere. He apologized and the instead of the quoted $60 install heinstalled it for me with even a better upgrade of film for $40. It reallyis amazing at just how much cooler my interior is now after sitting out in theparking lot. I highly recommend that you check into whichever film thatyour area carries and see about getting it installed.<o></o>
