There is a tool that looks like a "T" (see diagram on clip). If you do not have something like that:
Take two small hex key/allen wrenches, insert the short ends in the top of the clip (see diagram on clip) so that it becomes a "T".
I used a vice grip to hold them together and pull up, be prepared to sacrifice the future use of the aforementioned hex key/allen wrench. The larger the hex key the stronger the tensile strength.
Using a screwdriver to pry will bend the clip(s) and you will have to get new ones.
