I was just not a fan of the red peeking through on my otherwise "earth toned" Ex. Nothing wrong with them, I just didn't like the color. They also came with stickers, which I didn't put on the shocks, and I didn't put the boot on the steering damper for the same reason.
If you want black or other colors 4 wheel shops have them available. Just FYI.
Another.. I don't climb under the truck. I can reach right in through the wheelwells and adjust them that way. The rear shocks I do get them from under the X.
Not normal usually. How long have you had them on?
This right here.
Live in Colorado and has lived in Colorado all of its life. I thought it was strange since Colorado is so dry rust is normally not a problem. Previous owner installed them, not sure how long they have been on.
Inmates are those white? (they look to be white) If so those are probably close to 5 years old, FYI. I am in CO to and have had the silver ones on my Super Duty (which I hit with a clear coat) and no rust! Also out here, as you know, mag chloride is nasty stuff!!

Well road salt and chemicals can be nasty to a cars underside. It looks like they weren't hosed of weekly. If the salt/chemicals aren't washed off regularly they build up and and eat away at undercar parts.
