. Ran into similar problem with my Mercruiser 351W boat engine, don't think Merc ever changed the HP rating after Ford started blocking 3/4's of the exhaust port with an air injection boss(unused in boat engines back then)... bigger head combustion chambers... smaller valves...

. Does that porcelain throne really have a Holley float, inlet valve, butterfly, booster, and flush jet in it...? Do you choke over it?

Those exhaust bumps were huge. I ported a set of W heads and left a 2bbl and the thing ran like it had a 4bbl on it. Would wind right on up.

As for the throne, it seems like a Holley 'cause the float leaks and it uses a lot of liquid.

. Yeah, ported W heads out till I struck water... gave a good boost in power... still a quantum leap more in power though when I added World Windsor Sr. heads...

Was any of your carb bolt

Where any of your intake carb stud holes drilled to far into the intake and does yours have a weird milled surface that leans towards the front


And, I weighed the manifolds: Eddy Performer 400 = 15 lbs; Chinese Weiand 8010 = 17 lbs; US-made Weiand 8010 = 21 lbs. Let the buyer beware.[/QUOTE]

Carb. surfaces lean forward because engines lean back...
