These are a few pictures of my latest project. Just a frame-up. The interior is original and will stay that way. The exterior was stripped down to bare with just a few minor body repairs.
My question is what to do with the underside. As you can see the original under-coating is peeling off. I'm sure that with a high pressure sprayer I can strip 90% of it off. Leaving behind a pristine factory finish. There will be a few small areas that I'll need to sand and seal.
Then what? Looking for a recommendation to reseal/recoat the whole underside.??
The last truck I restored was a frame-off and I Rhino lined the whole thing.
What is a good sprayable product to use or what have you guys used?
Looks like a good project to start on what is it a custom cab? Damn clean looking amazing how the undercoat can peel off to reveal such a clean factory finish. That's how my truck Is the few small spots left on my truck with the factory coating on is chipping off and showing nice paint underneath. I was going to suggest rhino lining but looks like your wanting to try another undercoat instead. There's one called lizard skin i think it is? Another member used it on his truck and it turned out good.

It was a lucky find. Truly an old man barn find. Will be an easy restore.
Thanks for the tip on the lizard skin. I'm looking for something sprayable so I hope this will do the trick.
My 2005 has some type of sprayed-on substance ?? on the frame. It's almost like a tar that gets all over your while working around it. It seems to penetrate real well which is what I'm looking for instead of something that just skims over the surface.
Thanks again.
