I seem to have a bit of a problem.. i was playing in some sticky mud, for better than an hour, and then I get a grinding/howling out of the tranny.. I think that I may have damaged a bearing...
what do i do now?? I think i have to rebuild the tranny.. i did not drive the truck home. my friedn that i go wheeling with pulled me out with his 3/4 ton dodge... the trucks is in my drive way courtesy of a tow bar...
My question is how hard is it to rebuild transmission?
I kind of doubt that going thru some mud hurt the T-18. Are you sure that the noise is coming from the transmission? I have not rebuilt one but a real shop manual would be a good start.
Well, i dropped the trans out of the truck and one of the gears shattered.. there is about a millian little pieces in the case.. it is visible when you look thru the PTO cover... oh, well time to call a junkyard
